A Gemischter Satz is a wine made from a variety of grapes that were planted, harvested & pressed together
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Riesling, Auxerrois, Grüner Veltliner, Neuburger and other grape varieties, grown side by side in an old vineyard.
Taste Profile: Complex, fragrant aroma of the wine reveals notes of citrus, yellow, pineapple and grasses, supplemented with mineral and spicy nuances. The wine shows a lively, powerful palate with good acidity, delicious texture and long finish.
Winemaking Process: The fruit is harvested & pressed together, and stored for 1.5 years in a large oak cask. Nikolaihof follows biodynamic farming principles, various grasses, herbs and flowers are grown in their vineyards, and to strengthen the vines and the soil they work with the horn silica- and the horn-manure-preparate

Often associated with coastal regions or limestone based terroir, these wines are characterised with crisp acidity, mineraiity, citrus tones, with a hint of grassiness
Aging a wine on lees (sur lie) significantly affects its taste, texture, and overall complexity. Lees refer to the dead yeast cells and other solid particles that settle at the bottom of a fermentation vessel after primary fermentation.
It helps with flavour development, often adding bready, nutty, toasty, or creamy flavors. It also helps to balance acidity & creates a more rounded, creamy, and silky mouthfeel.
