Lightly carbonated, juicy and naturally low in alcohol, Meinklang Prosa Rose Frizzante is a winner at any event. A sparkling rosé in the pet-nat style that, as well as being the official entertainer at its creators’ own wedding, has become one of Meinklang’s funniest bottles.
Their vineyards are surrounded by natural ponds and cover crops of wild grasses and herbs. But the real pride of the estate is a herd of Angus cattle that provides manure as fertiliser. This is why the bottle’s labels have a picture of a cow
Grape Varietals & Region: 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Blaufrankisch blend from Burgenland, Austria
Taste Profile: Meinklang Prosa Rose Frizzante 2022 is a sparkling wine that shimmers with hues of rose gold, ideal for those in pursuit of a sweet and youthful nuance in their glass. Upon the initial taste, you are greeted by a vivacious effervescence, where ripe raspberries and a hint of mint dance together in harmony. Olfactorily, you will be enveloped by the aromas of fresh red fruits, offering an invigorating and approachable experience. This wine is a splendid choice to brighten any event with effortless elegance.
Winemaking Process: The grapes are harvested by hand. In the winery, the grapes are gently pressed and, after a short maceration, they begin spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts. The wine is then aged in the bottle following the ancient method and remains on the lees for a period of time.
Red fruit and bubbles, ranging from light and fruity pink Moscato, to vintage rosé Champagne and sparkling Shiraz
Often called the tank method, the wine is made sparkling by conducting second fermentation in large pressurised tanks. It forces carbon dioxide to carbonate the wine as it cannot escape, and is the method to make Prosecco.
They tend to be slightly fruitier and have less fine bubbles compare to sparklings made in the traditional method
