Haselgrove Switch GSM 2020
A bundle of hazel twigs was once believed to ward off evil — this bundle of three grapes does something almost as good for a Sunday roast.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre, selected from two Grenache parcels, four Shiraz parcels and one Mourvèdre parcel, each from a different micro-climate in McLaren Vale, South Australia. The Grenache near Aldinga brings brooding dark fruit and strong structural tannin, while the parcel closer to Willunga gives brighter red fruit and finer tannin; the Shiraz parcels were chosen for brighter fruit profiles, and the Mourvèdre comes from Haselgrove's own vineyard near McLaren Flat, contributing spicy lift and structure.
Taste Profile: Powerful aromas of summer berries, black cherry and Christmas cake spice. The palate carries all the hallmarks of this classic blend — luscious red berry fruit backed by assertive, youthful tannins.
Winemaking Process: Crushed to open fermenters with hand plunging three times daily. Fermented on skins for 10 days, then pressed directly to 10% new French oak with the balance in seasoned French oak. Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre are kept separate right up until the final blend.
Winemaker: James Haselgrove made his first wine in McLaren Vale in 1979, the year he started what became Haselgrove Vignerons, following his father Ron Haselgrove OBE into the trade. His son Nick, a Roseworthy-trained oenologist, became the third generation to run the winery, winning McLaren Vale's Bushing King award in 1993 for the 1992 Futures Shiraz. The family business was regenerated as Nick Haselgrove Wines in 2016, carrying three generations of McLaren Vale winemaking into blends like Switch.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
