Torrontés grown 43 years on a remote pergola in the far north of Argentina, made in a style that trades the grape's usual perfume bomb for tension.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Torrontés from vines with an average age of 43 years in the remote northern Valle de Cafayate, Salta, Argentina. The pergola-trained vineyard sits in a semi-arid climate, on predominantly alluvial soils with a deep, sandy texture — conditions that push Torrontés toward precision rather than the broad, overtly floral style the grape is often known for.
Taste Profile: A tight profile with elegant tension and beautiful citrus notes. Clear, light golden colour with green tones. Pink grapefruit and lemon peel lead the nose, backed by floral notes of rose petal and wild white flowers. Vibrant acidity carries the dry, medium-to-low-bodied palate, delivering a modern, fresh and unique style of Torrontés with flavours of Meyer lemon, pear, lychee and a hint of vanilla, closing on a slightly salty, mouthwateringly acidic finish. Ageing potential of 2+ years.
Winemaking Process: Hand-harvested with strict selection, then carefully destemmed. The fruit soaks briefly in water for extra colour and flavour extraction before a gentle pressing, and the juice rests in cool temperatures to let the coarser components settle. The clean juice undergoes spontaneous alcoholic fermentation over three weeks with wild yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel at 14–16°C. The young wine then moves to used French oak barriques for malolactic fermentation and ages there for 6 months before light filtering and bottling.
Winemaker: Casarena began in 2007, when the current team refurbished a century-old family winery building — first raised in 1937 — in the heart of Perdriel, just twenty minutes from Mendoza city. The name fuses "casa" and "arena," a nod to the sand-coloured stone winery and the sandy soils it sits on. Casarena farms multiple distinct estates across Luján de Cuyo, each with its own altitude, orientation and soil profile, giving its agroenological team a living laboratory for showing how differently the same grape can speak depending on exactly where it's grown.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
