Momento Mori Fistful Of Flowers 2024
A blend of vermentino and moscato ‘girls,’ fermented as gently and as cleanly as Dane Johns knows how.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Vermentino and Moscato Giallo grown on the slopes of Mt Camel in Heathcote, Victoria, Australia — organically farmed fruit sourced by Momento Mori’s Dane Johns.
Taste Profile: An expressive whack of florals on the nose — perfumed stone fruit, musk and spring blossom — layered over a tray of pineapple, lychee, papaya and passion fruit. Low in alcohol and disarmingly fresh, with a cool, slate-like steeliness and a fine salinity keeping the fruit intensity in check. A wine built to drink in one easy breath.
Winemaking Process: Long, steady fermentation in 100% stainless steel with no additions, roughly three weeks on skins before pressing and ageing, also in stainless. Racked only once and bottled by gravity — no fining, no filtration, and, notably, no added sulphur.
Winemaker: Dane Johns makes every Momento Mori wine with small ferments, wild yeast, no new oak, no mechanical pumps and no additions at any stage — including sulphur. “I’m just trying to make wines as pure and as clean as I can, without adding anything at all,” he says. “I guess it’s like farming organically — it instantly ensures you can only do things gently and in small batches.” The fruit comes from the Chalmers family’s experimental Heathcote vineyard, planted to around 30 mostly Italian varieties and farmed organically in close collaboration with Dane.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
