Rockford Sparkling Black Shiraz is a unique and vibrant wine produced in Barossa Valley, Australia. It is made using the Shiraz grape, which is traditionally used to make full-bodied red wines.
The Sparkling Black Shiraz uses the time-honoured method of ageing quality Shiraz in wood for many years prior to blending and bottle fermentation. The result is softness, depth and complex flavours that are impossible to duplicate in young wines. The Black Shiraz ensures that this very Australian wine, nurtured by generations of winemakers is never lost.
The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged in oak barrels for about 18 months. After the aging process, the wine is bottled and undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle, which gives it its characteristic effervescence.
The wine has a deep purple color and exudes aromas of blackberry, plum, and chocolate, with hints of spice and vanilla. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with a creamy texture and a fine mousse. Flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and coffee are complemented by a touch of sweetness and a refreshing acidity.
