Egon Müller's dry Riesling side project — built to go head-to-head with the best of Austria and Alsace, on a Roman-planted hillside above the Danube.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Riesling of the same Egon clone Müller grows at his Scharzhofberg estate on the Saar in Germany, transplanted to the hills below Château Belá.
Taste Profile: Light yellow colour. The scent of linden blossom and honey transitions into beautiful notes of fresh citrus. Rich and structured on the palate, with tropical fruit, honey, fine minerality and juicy acidity — the acidity that gives this Riesling its longevity.
Winemaking Process: Late-harvested but fermented fully through to dryness, a deliberate choice built to rival Austria's and Alsace's best dry Rieslings rather than Germany's classic off-dry style.
Winemaker: Château Belá is an ancient property of the Baron Ullmann family on the banks of the Danube in the Štúrovo wine region of southern Slovakia, near the Hungarian border — vines here were first planted by the Romans. In 2001, owner Countess Ilona von Krockow joined forces with German winemaker Egon Müller, of Scharzhofberg fame, and together with respected local winemaker Miroslav Petrech they renovated the cellar and set out to put Slovak wine on the world map. Production runs to around 30,000 bottles a year.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
