Vingården i Klagshamn "Fjälltopp" Solaris 2020
Made by a winemaker who cut his teeth in the Rhône with Éric Pfifferling, on grapes bred specifically to survive a Swedish winter.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Solaris from Gotland County, Sweden.
Taste Profile: Fjälltopp is a white wine, but an older one, partly aged in oak, made in a slightly oxidative way that contributes to its richer colour. Nuanced, developed and very fresh, with hints of red apple, orange, nuts, dried apricot and spice.
Winemaking Process: The Solaris is gently pressed, clarified by gravity and split into three parts — one fermented and raised in old oak barrels, one in an egg-shaped tank, one in stainless steel — each fermenting naturally with indigenous yeast from the vineyard. After a slow fermentation, the three parts rest on their lees for 18 months before being blended together by gravity and bottled in July 2022, with a microdose of sulfur (10mg/l) added at blending to ensure a safe transition between tank and consumer.
Winemaker: Jesper Friberg works out of Vingården i Klagshamn, on Sweden's Skåne coast near Malmö, where he makes a small range of natural wines — Urskog, Strandäng, Myrmark and Fjälltopp among them — largely from Solaris, Cabernet Cortis and Rondo, the cold-hardy hybrid grapes that actually survive Swedish winters. He learned his craft abroad, including a stint with Éric Pfifferling in Tavel, before coming home to build his own small, philosophy-driven corner of the vineyard.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
