Walter Hansel Cahill Lane Pinot Noir 2022
Three Pinot Noir clones, one acre each, all grown on vines old enough to be hitting their peak.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir from the Cahill Lane vineyard in California's Russian River Valley, rooted in clay soil mixed with sandy Goldridge loam and sustainably farmed. A blend of three clones — 114, 115 and the Rochioli Pommard clone — each grown on its own one-acre block; the vines were planted in 1989 and are now at their peak. The Pommard and clone 115 contribute red berry and cherry character, while clone 114 adds the herbal dimension that gives Cahill Lane its Old World edge.
Taste Profile: Aromas of cranberries, tobacco and a hint of orange peel. Light to medium-bodied and dry, with a silky mouthfeel and great freshness — red cherry, strawberry and vanilla spice flavours carry an herbal dimension that gives the wine real Old World character.
Winemaking Process: Hand-harvested and sorted twice — once in the vineyard, once at the winery. After destemming, gravity guides whole berries into open-top fermenters.
Winemaker: Walter Hansel Winery is a small, family-run Russian River Valley estate built around meticulous, single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, treating each clone and block on the Cahill Lane site as its own distinct expression of the vineyard.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
