Mee Godard Moulin-à-Vent "Les Michelons" 2022
Adopted from South Korea as a baby and raised in France, Mee Godard found her calling by taking over an old vigneron's vines when he had no heirs to pass them to.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Gamay from Les Michelons, a single hectare in the Moulin-à-Vent cru near the village of Chénas — Mee Godard's only vineyard holding outside her home base in Morgon. The soil is sandy, the parcel faces southwest on the slope, and yields are extremely low, but the resulting wine is dense and complex.
Taste Profile: A sultry, velvety body and texture, with plum, black cherry, violet, cinnamon spice and layered earthiness. Aromatically dense, with real ageing potential — the maceration in cement polishes the tannins and lets the fruit take centre stage.
Winemaking Process: Maceration takes place in concrete tanks, followed by ageing in a mix of old and new, large and small oak for 12 to 18 months depending on the vintage.
Winemaker: Mee Godard was born in South Korea and adopted as a baby by a French family; she trained in oenology in Lyon and Montpellier and studied further at Oregon State University before apprenticing in Burgundy under winemakers including Dominique Lafon. She arrived in Beaujolais at the end of 2012 and, the following year, took over the plots of an elderly Morgon vigneron, André Meyran, who had no heirs to leave them to. Since founding her own domaine in February 2013, she's built a reputation as one of the region's brightest new names, working organically since 2016 across three Morgon climats plus this single hectare in Moulin-à-Vent.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
