Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir from the Calvert vineyard, just a kilometre from Felton Road's home Elms vineyard in Bannockburn, Central Otago, New Zealand. The site consistently produces the most aromatic and ethereal style of Pinot Noir in the Felton Road range.
Taste Profile: A characteristic floral aroma is finely supported by mineral and spice notes on the nose. A detailed palate follows, emphasising precision and elegance, with a crunchy texture and refined, evident tannins. The wine finishes with the accuracy and finesse that has become the hallmark of Calvert.
Winemaking Process: Farmed biodynamically and given a gentler, lighter oak treatment than Felton Road's other Pinot Noir sites, preserving the site's naturally floral, delicate character.
Winemaker: Felton Road was founded in 1991 when retired ophthalmologist Stewart Elms spotted north-facing schist slopes on Bannockburn's historic Felton Road and planted the Elms Vineyard. Winemaker Blair Walter built the winery from the ground up, crafting an inaugural 1997 vintage that critic Robert Parker famously said could pass for Grand Cru red Burgundy in a blind tasting. In 2000, UK entrepreneur Nigel Greening — by then Felton Road's biggest private customer in Britain and owner of the neighbouring Cornish Point orchard — bought the estate and kept Walter on as winemaker and co-owner, a partnership now in its third decade built on biodynamic farming and a deliberately hands-off approach in the cellar.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
