Gut Oggau Cecilia 2023
One of The Outsiders, Cecilia is described by the Gut Oggau family as -
May we introduce? Cecilia! You see her, you taste her, you feel her. She inspires you. She doesn't think much of conventions and doesn't let herself be pigeonholed. She shows you that it's good to be a little different. Mixed in white and red, with roots in limestone, she shines brightly and is proof that there is more than the predefined categories. She loves horses and her soil reveals her distinctive character. And we know that this is only the beginning of a wonderful journey that we want to take with her. A journey to the true self, without any arrogance. Together with Cecilia, we want to put less energy into impressing others and more into remaining independent.
Grape Varietals & Region: Cecilia comes from a field blend from a 1.4ha plot planted in Gemischter Satz (red and white grape varieties), which Steffi and Eduard from Gut Oggau have recultivated
Taste Profile: Delicate pink, red berry aromas, and a crisp palate of strawberry and watermelon.
Winemaking Process: A blend of red & white wine, 2/3 of the grapes are pressed directly and 1/3 are crushed. The must is fermented spontaneously in large wooden vats and is neither fined nor filtered nor additionally sulphurised during fermentation. Matured in 1500l wooden barrels.
