Description

Gut Oggau Josephine 2022

Josephine comes from The Outsiders, and is described by the Gut Oggau family as -

We love Josephine for her unique personality, for her southern temperament and her northern, dry humor. She always knows how to cheer us up. She is bright and playful, yet warm and caring at the same time.

She wants to please, but is also always good for surprises. Her character reflects the vineyards where she grew up. Bathed in the warm sunlight, she finds balance in the purity and freshness of the limestone soil. The dry heat is sometimes a challenge for her, but some refreshing nights in August help her to cool down in a pleasant way. She is a free spirit and cannot be captured. With every sip she delights your senses and challenges your sensations. Josephine encourages us to open our minds to new ideas and explore new horizons. She encourages us to dare the unknown. This is her gift to the world.

Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Blaufrankisch Roesler from Burgenland, Austria

Taste Profile: Inky purple. Intense aromas of blackberries and spices. Robust palate showcasing black plum, cocoa, and a long, velvety finish. Full of dark berries, leather, mushrooms, and beautiful acidity. You'll want to put this with a delicious meal and contemplate!

Winemaking Process: Harvested by hand, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in barrels, 8 months maturation then bottled without fining, filtration or addition of sulfites
