VC Vicentino Merlot 2018
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Merlot from Alentejo, Portugal.
Planted in predominantly lay-schist soils, Merlot has proved tits great adaptation to the Vicentino terroir, by providing great quality and consistency, year by year.
Taste Profile: Dark ruby colour. Aromas of ripe red fruits and some black plum, followed by refreshing nuances of mint and truffles integrated in an elegant spicy background. On the palate it presents a silky texture but with firm tannins, and it is both elegant and vibrant. It shows its origin with a captivating saline touch with a very long finish.
Winemaking Process: Handpicked grapes and careful bunch selection upon winery arrival. During the first 5 days, the grapes were put to macerate in cold pre-fermentation conditions, It was followed by alcoholic fermentation for 10 days, at a temperature of 24ºC, in stainless steel open vats (“lagares”).
In new (50%) and used (50%) in 228 litre French oak barrels for 11 months.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
