Movia Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Made in the traditional Movia style — late-harvested, wild-yeast fermented, and built for elegance rather than brute power.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, hand-harvested from an organically farmed vineyard in Goriška Brda, Slovenia, with vines averaging 30 years old on marl and limestone soils, trained on single guyot.
Taste Profile: Deep ruby colour. Fresh, rich nose of blackcurrant, black cherry and blueberry with notes of leather, undergrowth, tobacco and mocha, carrying through beautifully and harmoniously to the palate. Rather than big, bold and tannic, this Cabernet is elegant and brilliant — full-bodied and dry with sweet, chewy tannins, bright acidity and a smooth, fruity blackcurrant aftertaste.
Winemaking Process: Primary fermentation in large steel tanks with indigenous yeasts, macerating 3–4 weeks until the skins sink and the wine clarifies naturally. Secondary fermentation follows in barrique on lees without racking, then ages 4 years in 180-litre Slovenian oak barrels and a further 6 months in bottle laid on its side, with no fining, filtering, sulphur or other preservatives.
Winemaker: Movia has belonged to the Kristancic family since 1820 and has been farmed by eight generations in Goriska Brda. Ales Kristancic, born 1966, trained in Veneto and at Domaine de la Romanee-Conti and Chateau Petrus before converting the estate to organic and biodynamic farming.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
