Moric Blaufränkisch Burgenland is undoubtedly a prime example of a fine Austrian red and serves as an ideal introduction to this quintessentially Austrian variety. Velich is acknowledged as one of the country's finest winemakers, creating an elegant style from the country's national red grape varietal
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Blaufrankisch from Burgenland, Austria. The fruit comes from vineyards located in Neckenmarkt and Lutzmannsburg, which boast vines aged between eight and 50 years, planted in soils composed of limestone, primary rock, and marl.
Taste Profile: On the nose, it offers aromas reminiscent of blackberries, cherries and black plums, accompanied by hints of dried rosemary and oregano. On the palate, it shows an intense, polished but rough and earthy texture which takes over the palate and where notes of black raspberry appear. A red wine full of fruit, elegance and fresh acidity.
Winemaking Process: The grape clusters undergo a skin maceration lasting approximately 20 days, conducted in open vats and steel tanks, with fermentation occurring through indigenous yeasts. The resulting wine is matured in barrels of varying sizes, ranging from 600 litres to 4500 litres in capacity. Finally, the wine is bottled without filtering or fining.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
