Sato Wines La Ferme de Sato Chardonnay "Le Chant du Vent" 2022
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay from Central Otago in New Zealand. "Chant du Vent" translates to "Song of the Wind", which refers to the whistling noise created by the wind as it hurtles through the vineyard posts
The fruit comes from all 3 blocks of the Sato estate, and the Mendoza Chardonnay clone makes the majority of the wine, Clone 15, Clone 6 and 121
Taste Profile: It's a richly yet mineral-driven Chardonnay with plenty of weight and flavour. On the nose, an initial oxidative honeyed spice and ripe nectarine opens up to a more nuanced, mineral-inflected expression with white pepper and floral high tones leading to a surprisingly fresh and clean river stone, clove/cinnamon apple undertow which frames and defines the wilder notes
The palate has tension from the outset which gives way to mouth-filling full-bodied mid. There is evidence of fruit restraint, but the back-palate is currently reticent and unyielding
Winemaking Process: Basket pressed into oak barrels for a wild ferment, it matures of 16 months prior to bottling without filtering or fining.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
