Domaine Chotard Sancerre Blanc Tradition 2024
A crisp, dry Sancerre drawn from three parcels of limestone, pebbly griottes and marl.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Sauvignon Blanc, from three parcels of vines grown on limestone, pebbly griottes and marl at the Chotard estate in Crézancy-en-Sancerre, Loire Valley, France, within a cirque of clay-limestone Kimmeridgian marl hills where the plots are sunny all day and the vines' roots reach springs running through the basement.
Taste Profile: A pale yellow colour with a fresh, grassy nose carrying subtle grapefruit citrus and white blossom nuances. Full-bodied and dry on the palate, with crisp acidity and good length, showing refreshing lemon citrus, grapefruit zest and green apple flavours that close on a long, saline finish.
Winemaking Process: Harvest is by both hand and machine. After manual sorting, the grapes are pressed and cold-stabilised for 3–4 days before light settling and fermentation. The wine ages 6–10 months across vats and barrels.
Winemaker: The Chotard family has grown grapes in Reigny for more than two centuries. Daniel Chotard was initially a reluctant vigneron, pursuing a career in education before returning to the family domaine, where he now lives with his wife Brigitte just outside Sancerre. A self-described Renaissance man, Daniel is also a gifted guitarist and accordion player who hosts lively music-and-wine soirées at the estate, while his son Simon, an oenologist, has continued the family tradition since the 2010 vintage.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
