Forjas del Salnés "Cos Pés" 2021
An Albariño trodden underfoot the old way, turning Rías Baixas' signature white into a skin-contact orange wine.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Albariño from a single vineyard of old vines, 40-50 years old, growing in granitic sandy soils over granite bedrock, very near the sea in Spain's Rías Baixas.
Taste Profile: Intense, bright golden colour. An expressive bouquet of stone fruit, citrus and balsamic notes. Plenty of freshness and minerality on the palate, with great structure and well-balanced acidity — apricot and quince flavours with a good dose of orange citrus, saline minerals and a minty background.
Winemaking Process: Manually harvested and sorted, then gently pressed before fermentation. After fermentation, the wine macerates on its skins in vats of used oak for 12 months — a traditional, foot-trodden technique that gives Cos Pés its orange-wine character.
Winemaker: Rodrigo Méndez founded Forjas del Salnés in 2005 on the rough, cold Atlantic coast of Rías Baixas, the fifth generation of a Galician family with over three centuries of winemaking behind it. Alongside fellow winemaker Raúl Pérez, Méndez has become known as one of Albariño's most distinctive voices, embracing native-yeast fermentation, extended lees contact and minimal sulfur across a range that also includes rare Galician reds.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
