Viticola Mentridana "El Mentridano" 2022
Old Garnacha from granite peaks that fed bulk cooperatives for a century before anyone asked what they could really do.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Garnacha grown in the high-altitude vineyards of the Sierra de Gredos, within the Mentrida appellation — free-draining granitic soils and a long, elevation-extended growing season.
Taste Profile: Ripe blackberry and cherry aromas with subtle hints of spice and earthiness. Lively and juicy on the palate, with dark fruit and a touch of minerality, supported by well-structured tannins and a long, smooth finish. Pairs well with grilled meats or hearty stews.
Winemaking Process: Vinified to preserve the old vines' natural concentration, in keeping with the low-intervention approach that defines the project.
Winemaker: Vitícola Mentridana was established in 2021 by Curro Barreño, who consolidated fellow winemaker Dani Landi's former Mentrida vineyard holdings with his own family's parcels after Landi stepped back to focus on his Comando G project. This old-vine Garnacha once fed anonymous bulk cooperatives until the early 2000s, when Landi and a small group of winemakers began exploring what these mountain vineyards could really do.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
