Van Niekerk Vintners Sonwater 2023
Grape Varietals & Region: 90% Chenin Blanc, 10% Clairette Blanche from Wester Cape, South Africa.
Chenin Blanc was sourced the old bush vine block on the Langkloof farm, Swartland, planted in 1979. Clairette Blanche came from the 1984 Esperance block, just outside of Worcester.
Taste Profile: Inspired by the famous 1960’s Lieberstein blend and consists of Chenin Blanc and Clairette Blanche. Contrary to its counterpart, Sonwater is not a semi-sweet wine.
The nose shows flinty reduction, peach, soft citrus, and hay while the palete is taut but equally not without weight. Dense fruit and snappy acidity, the finish wonderfully salty-savoury
Winemaking Process: Whole bunch pressed & naturally fermented, it is barrel aged for 10 months before bottling

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
