Domaine La Perriere Sancerre 2023
Aged in a limestone cave carved 200 million years ago, before the estate even had a cellar.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Sauvignon Blanc, from La Perrière's 43-hectare estate in Sancerre, Loire Valley, France, spread across the districts of Bannay, Verdigny, Saint-Satur, Crézancy and Vinon — where the estate's roughly 38 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc vines vastly outnumber its 5 hectares of Pinot Noir.
Taste Profile: A bright appearance with green highlights. Well-balanced and fruity on the nose, with aromas of white flowers, vineyard peach and acacia. The palate is supple and well-structured, developing mineral and white fruit notes through to a fresh, pleasant finish of orange zest.
Winemaking Process: Around half the fruit is picked by hand, with a first sorting in the vineyard to reject less healthy grapes. The Sauvignon undergoes a short, cold pre-fermentation maceration before direct pneumatic pressing, cold settling for 48 hours, and low-temperature fermentation. The wine ages on fine lees for 3–4 months before bottling in early spring, maturing in the estate's ancient limestone caves.
Winemaker: The Saget family has worked the Loire Valley for nine generations from their base in Pouilly-sur-Loire. In 1996, Jean-Louis Saget acquired Clos de La Perrière, one of Sancerre's oldest and most prestigious estates, whose vast natural limestone cave — carved some 200 million years ago — became the backdrop for the family's own estate production, dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
