A steep monopole where the mud is said to "lovingly" cling to the vigneron's boots.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Sauvignon Blanc from Les Coutonnes, a Chotard family monopole in Sancerre, Loire Valley — a steep parcel on a subsoil of Kimmeridgian marl known locally as Terres Amoureuses.
Taste Profile: Vibrant and expressive on the nose, with notes of citrus, green apple and a hint of grassiness. Lively and refreshing on the palate, with crisp acidity balancing flavours of lemon, grapefruit and minerality, finishing long and zesty.
Winemaking Process: Aged on its lees for several months, adding complexity and texture to the wine.
Winemaker: Vignerons in the Chotard family since 1789. Daniel Chotard, a reluctant vigneron who first pursued a career in education, took over the domaine in 1992; his son Simon, a trained enologist, now leads the estate, which achieved organic certification in 2019. Simon favours minimal intervention — no chaptalization, no acidification, only indigenous yeasts — with all fruit hand-harvested since 2018.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
