A high-elevation Spring Mountain family estate reaches down into Carneros for a single-vineyard Chardonnay.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay. Sangiacomo Vineyard, Carneros, California.
Taste Profile: The Sangiacomo Chardonnay is a beautiful bright gold colour with powerful aromatics. Passionfruit and kiwi jump from the glass, matched by spiciness, mainly white pepper. There are layers of honeysuckle and jasmine. Round and rich, this is a very luscious wine. The fruit moves to more apricot and pear on the palate while pretty jasmine persists — enjoyable in its youth or developing nicely over the next 6-7 years.
Winemaking Process: The grapes were harvested in the dark early morning under bright tractor lights, letting the cool fog keep them fresh before delivery. Whole-bunch pressed and held overnight in a cool tank, the juice is inoculated the next morning, stirred, and moved to barrel (20% new) for primary fermentation. Every barrel goes through natural malolactic fermentation, monitored and halted at the perfect point — 48% malic-to-lactic conversion that year.
Winemaker: Barnett Vineyards was founded in 1983 when Fiona and Hal Barnett bought a rugged, 40-acre plot atop Spring Mountain — nothing but trees, rocks and rattlesnakes at the time. Their first Cabernet vines went in the following year, and the family made the mountain their full-time home in 1991, raising three daughters alongside a small-production winery that now produces around 8,000 cases a year.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
