L.A.S. Vino Wildberry Springs Chardonnay 2024
From a 25-year-old vineyard planted by the family that first drove cattle over the top into the Kimberley.
Grape Varietals & Region: Predominantly the Gin-Gin Chardonnay clone with a small percentage of clones 3 and 5, from a 25-year-old vineyard on rich, gravelly loam in the heart of Willyabrup, Margaret River, Australia — planted by John Durack, whose family were the first to bring cattle over the top end into the Kimberley.
Taste Profile: Pale yellow hues, with rich aromas of ginger, green apple, pineapple, nougat, grapefruit and custard. Rich and creamy on the palate, balanced by a firm line of acidity beneath, building into a long, layered finish.
Winemaking Process: Hand-picked in the early morning, chilled overnight, whole-bunch pressed and naturally fermented in oak. Primary fermentation stretched over 9 months — still active into November — with natural malolactic fermentation occurring alongside it and lees stirred fortnightly. Matured across 8 barrels of 1–2 year-old French oak, plus a single new Stockinger Austrian oak barrique and a single new Damy Allier barrique.
Winemaker: L.A.S. Vino was founded in 2013 by Nic Peterkin — the name stands for Luck, Art and Science. Nic is the son of Pierro founder Dr Mike Peterkin and grandson of Cullen Wines founders Kevin and Dianne Cullen, giving him deep Margaret River roots on both sides of his family. After a master's in oenology and vintages at Pierro, in Portugal and in Mexico, he launched L.A.S. Vino to make wines new to the region — leaning into extended skin contact, wild ferments, amphora ageing and unconventional blends while staying grounded in Margaret River's classic sense of place.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
