Description

Gut Oggau Emmeram 2023

One of The Parents, Emmeram is described by the Gut Oggau family as -

Whenever Emmeram is around, he delights us with his dry humor and open-hearted attitude to life. He doesn't like to commit himself, but he still adds more spice to our lives with his kind nature and his unique expression from the limestone terroir where he grew up.

He is modest and at the same time extremely self-confident. Looking up to the sky, but with both feet firmly on the ground. Through his eyes you will see the world in a brighter light. Reassess. Rethink. Understand that even if something is right for us, it doesn't necessarily have to be right for others. Let's take Emmeram as an example: Let's live without prejudice and enjoy the unexpected and the beauty of nature with every single sip.

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Gewurztraminer from Burgenland, Austria. The fruit comes from vines over 40 years old, grown on limestone & sand.

Taste Profile: One of the few single varietal wines from Gut Oggau, it is a dry & aromatic white with floral & citrus notes of lemon, gardenla, jasmine, rose, honeysuck. On the palatte, you find more exotic notes of lychee, pear, apricot, with a hint of savoury mushrooms, making for an incredible & exciting experience.

Winemaking Process: The fruit is destemmed & fermented on indigenous yeast in oak, where it continues to remain without batonnage for about 12 months
