Recanati Upper Galilee Chardonnay 2023
A wine built to showcase exactly how good Israeli terroir can get, one classic variety at a time.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay from an outstanding plot in the Upper Galilee vineyards, Israel. Over the years, Recanati has identified the finest growing plots across the Upper Galilee, and this series concentrates on presenting classic varieties from that terroir with real refinement.
Taste Profile: Refreshing and elegant, with a light straw-yellow colour. Classic Chardonnay aromas harmonize with oak fragrance and a buttery texture. Full-bodied on the palate, with tropical fruit and grapefruit flavours quickly joined by oak, caramel and hazelnut nuances.
Winemaking Process: Grapes arrive at the winery in the early hours of the morning. After pressing and controlled fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel, about half the wine ages sur lie for 6 months in French oak barrels while the other half completes fermentation and ageing in tank.
Winemaker: Recanati was founded in 2000 by banker and collector Lenny Recanati alongside Uri Shaked, with a mission to make Israeli wine that could compete on quality alone — not just within the kosher market. Descended from a family with centuries of Italian winemaking history, Recanati was among the first Israeli wineries to work with indigenous Holy Land varieties, while continuing to source two-thirds of its fruit from its high-altitude Manara vineyards in the Upper Galilee.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
