GranMonte "The Orient" Syrah 2021
A Syrah built for the cellar, from vines planted on the slopes of Thailand's Khao Yai mountains.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Syrah from Khao Yai, Thailand.
Taste Profile: Ripe plums and blackcurrant on the palate, with a complex, dry and generous mouthfeel, rich fruit and young yet refined tannins. Balanced acidity carries long, sweet, toasty hints of coffee and cedar, robust with integrated vanilla oak, powerful tannins and a long, lingering finish.
Winemaking Process: Vinified with a long maceration period to capture full flavour and complexity, then aged in new and second-year French and American oak barrels for twelve months for well-structured tannins and integrated oak character.
Winemaker: GranMonte was founded in 1999 by Visooth and Sakuna Lohitnavy, who planted vines outside Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand while their daughters were still in primary school — the estate's name means "big mountain," inspired by the surrounding Khao Yai ranges. Visooth went on to found the Thai Wine Association in 2004, and the estate is now led by his daughter Nikki Lohitnavy, Thailand's first qualified female winemaker, producing around 100,000 bottles a year of tropical-climate wine from Khao Yai's high-altitude vineyards.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
