The classic Chianti with a touch of elegance.
Grape Varietals & Region: 80% Sangiovese with 15% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, grown at 280–480 metres altitude across the five most representative soils of Brolio, Chianti, Tuscany, Italy: Macigno del Chianti (sandstone), Scaglia Toscana (Galestro), Monte Morello (Alberese), marine deposits of sandy clay, and an ancient fluvial terrace of silty clay. Each plot is vinified separately before blending for consistency and expression.
Taste Profile: Intense ruby red with complex aromas of iris and violet, red fruit and balsamic scents. Soft on the palate with elegant, smoothed tannins, a true expression of the territory with well-balanced acidity and mineral tannins through a long finish.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are harvested from late September to mid-October. After blending, the wine matures nine months in French oak tonneaux of second and third use, picking up tannin and softening without picking up overt wood flavour, before bottling and release in June.
Winemaker: The Ricasoli family's link to wine dates to 1141, when records first place them at Brolio Castle, and they have owned the estate ever since — through centuries defending Florence, producing Bettino Ricasoli, the 'Iron Baron' and twice Prime Minister of a newly united Italy. Today the estate is led by Francesco Ricasoli, who has replanted and fully mapped the vineyards and pursues an ongoing study of Sangiovese clones suited to Brolio's soils.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
