Domaine Dirler-Cadé Riesling 2023
No Grand Cru, no Lieu-dit — just straight-up Bergholtz Riesling from a family that's been biodynamic since before it was cool.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Riesling, sourced from Dirler-Cadé's non-Grand-Cru parcels around Bergholtz and Guebwiller, on the same eroded Buntsandstein sandstone that runs through the estate's four Grand Crus (Saering, Kessler, Spiegel, Kitterlé). This is the estate's entry point into that terroir, farmed with the same biodynamic rigor as the top wines, just without the single-vineyard price tag.
Taste Profile: Lively and precise — lime, grapefruit pith and orchard fruit over a distinctly saline, wet-stone minerality, finishing bone-dry with real cut. Built to go the distance with white asparagus, choucroute, or a simple plate of charcuterie.
Winemaking Process: Hand-harvested from biodynamically farmed vines (in conversion since 1998, part of the Biodyvin group), fermented to fully dry with the estate's typical minimal-intervention hand — narrow, terraced rows worked by draft horse where machinery can't go, herbal tea treatments standing in for synthetic sprays.
Winemaker: Jean and Ludivine Dirler — fifth generation on Jean's side, merged with Ludivine's Hell-Cadé family vines from the 2000 vintage. Their belief, stated plainly on the domaine's own site, is that biodynamics is "the best possible way to produce true terroir wines" — a conviction Jean's father Jean-Pierre first tested in 1997 before the family rolled it out estate-wide the following year.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
