Movia "Veliko Belo" White 2017
Three grapes, vinified separately, aged 18 months, then blended into one of Slovenia's most celebrated whites.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Rebula (Ribolla Gialla), Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio grown on the Movia estate in Slovenia's Brda region, on the border with Italy.
Taste Profile: Golden yellow with a dense texture. Intense aromas of ripe yellow apple, persimmon, yellow plum and pineapple, with candied lemon, honey and dry yellow flowers, and touches of almond, butter, vanilla and caramel from time on the lees. Full-bodied and long, with a herbal, mineral finish of rosemary and marjoram — a natural match for haute cuisine fish dishes, poultry or lamb.
Winemaking Process: Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon are macerated for 1 day, Ribolla for 5 days. Each variety ferments and ages separately in barrique for 18 months before being blended together to create Veliko Belo.
Winemaker: Movia has been in the hands of the Kristančič family since 1820, with the estate itself dating back to 1700. Aleš Kristančič, the 8th generation to run Movia, trained in oenology in Veneto and interned at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Château Pétrus before returning home to Brda — a region straddling the Slovenia-Italy border. He began converting the estate to biodynamic farming in 1989, fully certified since 2005, and was among the first winemakers in the region to age wine in small French oak barriques.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
