Brda's white queen — and living proof that Ribolla can age like a serious wine.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Ribolla (Rebula) hand-harvested from a 2.5-hectare, organically farmed vineyard in Goriška Brda, Slovenia, with vines averaging 66 years old on marl and sandstone soils, trained on single guyot.
Taste Profile: Inviting golden amber colour. A rich bouquet of gooseberries, blackcurrants, apple skins and orange peel with gentle honey and stony mineral undertones. Dry and medium-bodied, with a full, linear taste balancing salty, savoury minerality against fruity notes of sweet tangerine, ripe pear, white peach and dried apricot, finishing on persistent honey and mineral notes.
Winemaking Process: Fermentation begins spontaneously in large steel tanks, with a second fermentation in 220-litre French oak barriques on fine lees. Aged 18 months in barrique followed by 4 months resting in bottle laid on its side. The name Ribolla derives from the Italian ribollire, "to re-boil" — a nod to the variety's natural second fermentation each spring once cool temperatures halt the first.
Winemaker: Movia has belonged to the Kristancic family since 1820 and has been farmed by eight generations in Goriska Brda. Ales Kristancic, born 1966, trained in Veneto and at Domaine de la Romanee-Conti and Chateau Petrus before converting the estate to organic and biodynamic farming.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
