One of a kind in Hungary's warmest wine region, made by a family whose great-grandfather dug the cellars still in use today.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Blauer Portugieser from Vojtek's 8-hectare holdings in the Villány wine region of Hungary — the country's warmest, sunniest region, with a sub-Mediterranean climate, southern exposure, and brown forest soils over limestone.
Taste Profile: Dark ruby with a black core. An enchanting nose of light blackcurrant and sparkling spice. Light tannins and a touch of tart, lively acidity, with sweet black cherry and plum on the palate, joined by vibrant pepper, nutmeg and green pepper on the finish.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are collected and pressed traditionally, then fermented in open vats with cooling and full malolactic fermentation — no oak ageing.
Winemaker: Winemaking has run through the Vojtek family for more than 30 years, on land where their great-grandfather built the two small cellars still used today at the foot of Villány's Jammertal. Csaba Vojtek now oversees every step from vine to bottle, working 8 hectares across three vineyards — Jammertal, Csillagvölgy and Dobogó — alongside his wife Eszter, who runs the cellar door.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
