Barnett Vineyards Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
A powerhouse Cabernet from the same rattlesnake-infested mountain plot the Barnett family turned into an estate.
Grape Varietals & Region: 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc. The grapes were sourced from Barnett's estate and neighboring York Creek Vineyards, with the entire blend solely from the Spring Mountain District Appellation and all under estate control.
Taste Profile: Fresh blackberry, anise and mocha are apparent on the nose, followed by cola, acai berry and menthol. A silky, lush wine with layers of dark chocolate, cedar and freshly ground coffee. Tannins are chiefly present — round, pleasing, chalky tannins balanced by firm mountain acid. The finish is chocolate-covered plum. This powerhouse Cabernet is already showing well and will develop even more complexity over the next 10-12 years.
Winemaking Process: Extraction runs around 22 days on average. Each vineyard block is then aged separately for 22 months in French oak, 70% new.
Winemaker: Barnett Vineyards was founded in 1983 when Fiona and Hal Barnett bought a rugged, 40-acre plot atop Spring Mountain, planting their first Cabernet vines in 1984 and producing just 232 cases from their first 1989 harvest. The family made the mountain their full-time home in 1991, and Barnett now produces around 8,000 cases a year, still built around small-production, high-elevation wines.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
