Alibrianza "Andrero '88 Ottantotto Filari" Perricone Nero d'Avola 2020
A marriage of warmth and power — Perricone and Nero d'Avola from two native Sicilian grapes rarely given equal billing.
Grape Varietals & Region: Perricone 80%, Nero d'Avola 20%, from vineyards in the area of Salemi, Trapani, Sicily, Italy, grown on clay and loam soils.
Taste Profile: The blend of these two autochthonous Sicilian grapes gives an intense, deep red wine with fruity yet spicy aromas and elegant notes of vanilla. Full-bodied, complete and absorbing on the palate, with elegant tannins on the finish; the Perricone adds fruitiness and softness to the more masculine Nero d'Avola.
Winemaking Process: Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at controlled temperature, with 10 days of peel maceration, followed by 12 months of ageing.
Winemaker: Alibrianza was founded in 1981 by Roberto Mazzei as a wholesaler of Italian food and wine. His son Andreas joined the business in the 1990s and made wine its central focus, aiming to become a producer in its own right; in 1997 the company purchased Cascina Radice, a Piedmont winery dating back to 1890. Thanks to Roberto's own Southern Italian roots, wines from Sicily and Puglia grew increasingly important to the portfolio, and the company — now known as Cantine Andreas Mazzei — continues to select and produce wines from Piedmont, Sicily and Puglia.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
