A rich & powerful Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, from one of the smallest DOC zones in the world — grown by the same family since 1910.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Montepulciano from the Villamagna DOC — a tiny appellation within Abruzzo whose name derives from the Latin "villa magna" ("large farm"), long considered the region's best ground for the Montepulciano grape.
Taste Profile: The Villamagna is a very elegant wine. The nose starts with withered fruits and continues with notes of cocoa powder, ground coffee and leather. In the mouth the wine is intense and endless, with perfect follow-through, a caressing mouthfeel, and a peppery finale. Pairs well with braised and grilled red meats.
Winemaking Process: 20 months in French and Slavonian oak barrels.
Winemaker: Torre Zambra dates back to 1910, when Vincenzo Cerchio bought 50 acres of land from the Zambra family — inside it stood a picturesque tower that gave the estate its name. He planted the first vines of Montepulciano and Trebbiano, but they were destroyed in World War II. His son-in-law Laurentino de Cerchio took over the land after the war and spent 14 years rebuilding the farm before the estate released its first label in 1961. Torre Zambra is now run by the fourth generation of the Cerchio family, Federico De Cerchio, still working the same Villamagna vineyards the family chose specifically for Montepulciano.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
