Tommasi Rafaël Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 2021
Elegant is the adjective that best describes the character of Rafaël, an unmistakable wine closely linked to the history of the Tommasi family.
Grape Varietals & Region: Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara from the Rafaël vineyard of the same name — the first historic vineyard of the Tommasi family — grown in Pergola Veronese in the Valpolicella Classica.
Taste Profile: Brilliant ruby red, opening with refined intensity on floral and fruity tones, with ripe cherry in evidence. Subtle and velvety on the palate, captivating with a tasty, persistent freshness of fruit that makes it smooth, light and elegant.
Winemaking Process: 12-day maceration with fermentation at a controlled temperature of 25-30°C. Aged for 15 months in 65 hl Slavonian oak barrels.
Winemaker: Tommasi has been in the same family's hands since 1902, when Giacomo Tommasi began cultivating a small parcel of land in the hills of Valpolicella Classica. From the 1960s, brothers Sergio, Franco, Ezio and Dario carried the estate through its modern expansion, carefully acquiring and managing vineyards across Valpolicella Classica and the wider Veronese hills. Winemaking today is led by Giancarlo Tommasi, who trained at the University of Udine and took over as director of production in 2000. The estate is now run by nine cousins — the fourth generation — heirs to a family tradition that's outlasted the century it started in.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
