Pietro Zardini "Pietro Junior" Austero Corvina Verona IGT 2018
Corvina on its own, dried and concentrated the Valpolicella way — softer and rounder than its name suggests.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Corvina from Pietro Zardini's vineyards in the Valpolicella production zone, Veneto, Italy, where the vines grow in prevalently red and dark soils rich in debris, calcareous marl and basalt.
Taste Profile: Intense ruby red with garnet tinges. An elegant bouquet of dark fruits and sweet spices. A balanced body with velvety tannins and rich blackcurrant flavours extending into hints of vanilla and clove. Best from 4-6 years after vintage.
Winemaking Process: Special selection and hand picking of the grapes during a late harvest, followed by natural drying for 1 month. Traditional maceration for 3-4 weeks, then ageing in oak barrels and barriques for 2 years.
Winemaker: The Zardini family's Valpolicella winemaking roots trace back to the early 1600s and founder Leonardo Zardini. Generations later, Pietro Zardini founded his own cellar in 2000, dedicating it to his grandfather Pietro — whose oxen were once famous across Valpolicella for their strength — and naming his Amarone Riserva for his father Leone. Pietro began working alongside established Verona wineries at just 19, building an approach that balances respect for tradition with room for new ideas.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
