Recanati Marselan Reserve 2020
An unquestionably Mediterranean single-varietal wine, made from a French cross barely a decade old in Israeli soil.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Marselan — a cross of Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon first bred in the South of France in the early 1960s, still a relatively new arrival in Israel — grown in Galilee, Israel. Recanati unveiled its first Marselan harvest in 2012; the vines are thinned during ripening to restrain their natural vigour and keep yields low.
Taste Profile: Deep ruby red colour. An inimitable flowery aroma of raspberry and nutmeg leads to flavours of black cherry, pomegranate and thyme. Bright on the palate with soft, round tannins and a smooth orange-zest finish, complex with earthy notes and a very full body.
Winemaking Process: Matured 12 months in French oak barrels, approximately half of them new, then bottled after coarse filtration.
Winemaker: Recanati Winery was founded in 2000 by Lenny Recanati and Uri Shaked in the Upper Galilee, with a goal of making Israeli wine recognised for quality on the world stage, not simply for being kosher. Its founding head winemaker, Lewis Pasco, trained first as a chef before turning to winemaking. The winery now produces close to a million bottles a year from vineyards on the slopes, plateaus and high wadis of the Upper Galilee.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
