Château Pajzos Tokaji Hárslevelű Late Harvest 2021
Grapes left hanging into early November, from one of the estates that relaunched Tokaji winemaking after decades of neglect.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Hárslevelű from Château Pajzos' vineyards in the historic Tokaj region of Hungary, harvested late to concentrate sugar and flavour.
Taste Profile: Rich and luscious, with fragrant honey, apricot and candied citrus peel on the nose. Sweet and full-bodied on the palate, with ripe peach, mango and orange blossom balanced by refreshing acidity, closing in a long finish of honeyed fruit and a hint of minerality. Lovely on its own or with creamy desserts.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are left on the vine until overripe, picked in early November, given a short maceration, then gradually pressed to extract the sugar-rich juice — the classic late-harvest approach used across Tokaj's sweet wines.
Winemaker: Château Pajzos was one of the founding estates of the 1991 "Renaissance of Tokaji," when Jean-Michel Arcaute and Jean-Louis Laborde led a group of investors to acquire the property and bring private winemaking back to the region. The Laborde family — who also own Château Clinet in Pomerol — became sole owners, and since 2013 the estate has operated under the Tokaj Trading House, one of the region's largest producers.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
