The Prisoner Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2023
From the house behind Napa's most recognised red blend comes a Cabernet built in the same unapologetic style.
Grape Varietals & Region: A Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend rounded out with Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, Petite Sirah and a touch of Charbono, sourced from vineyards and appellations across Napa Valley, California, where The Prisoner Wine Company works with a family of growers to source the estate's varietals.
Taste Profile: Aromas of black cherry and ripe plum layered with vanilla and baking spice. Concentrated dark fruit flavours culminate in a lush, full mouthfeel with a lengthy finish.
Winemaking Process: Hand-picked grapes ferment in bins for 10–20 days to let the tannins mature, with all lots fermented separately and pumped over twice a day. Only once tannins have fully developed are the grapes pressed, separating juice from skins. The wine ages 15 months across French and American oak, 55% new.
Winemaker: The Prisoner Wine Company was founded by Dave Phinney, who debuted the original Prisoner red blend in 2000 and built a reputation for unexpected, artful California wines. The winemaking team continues that ethos today, based on the legendary Highway 29 in Napa Valley.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
