Movia "Veliko Rdeče" Red 2016
Three grapes, vinified separately, aged six years, then blended into Movia's flagship red.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir grown on the Movia estate in Slovenia's Brda region, on the border with Italy.
Taste Profile: Ruby red with a translucent edge and pronounced density. Intense aromas of cherry, blackberry, black cherry and plum, intertwined with violets and red roses, developing smoke, cedar, eucalyptus, vanilla, liquorice and clove. Soft, broad and joyful on the palate, with youthful acidity and a velvety tannin grip, finishing with forest undergrowth, leather and tobacco — built for the long haul, and for rich meat or venison dishes.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are destemmed and fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts. After fermentation, the wine rests a week before pressing and ageing in barrique, with all three varieties vinified separately. The final blend is selected after 72 months of barrel ageing.
Winemaker: Movia has been in the hands of the Kristančič family since 1820, with the estate itself dating back to 1700. Aleš Kristančič, the 8th generation to run Movia, trained in oenology in Veneto and interned at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Château Pétrus before returning home to Brda — a region straddling the Slovenia-Italy border. He began converting the estate to biodynamic farming in 1989, fully certified since 2005, and was among the first winemakers in the region to age wine in small French oak barriques.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
