Marenco Brachetto D'Acqui DOCG Pineto 2025
Run today by three sisters — one of them the winemaker — this is Piedmont's fizzy answer to a sweet summer red, named after the very valley it's grown in.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Brachetto, from the Pineto valley vineyard in Strevi, in the Acqui hills of Piedmont — sandy, limestone-rich soil that the Marenco family has farmed since 1896. Brachetto d'Acqui DOCG is Italy's benchmark appellation for this aromatic, naturally low-alcohol red grape.
Taste Profile: Delicate ruby red, sweet and gently sparkling with a fine bead. Sultry aromas of rose and raspberry lead into strawberry and a touch of blackcurrant on the palate — light, aromatic and smooth. Great on its own, or alongside berry desserts, strawberries and cream, or a cheese board.
Winemaking Process: After crushing, the skins macerate for 3–4 days to draw out colour and aroma. A second fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled, pressurised tanks (up to 4 atmospheres) — the Charmat/Martinotti method — before the wine is clarified and finished cold in stainless steel.
Winemaker: Giuseppe Marenco modernised the family estate in the 1950s, expanding beyond grape-growing into full production and buying up key Strevi hillside plots, including the historic La Marchesa vineyard. Today his three daughters run it: Michela (with her husband Giovanni Costa) and Doretta oversee the business, while Patrizia, the estate's enologist, makes the wine.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
