Aurora "Château Aurora" 2017
The winery's very first release, and still made from its oldest vines, planted in 2003 on a Lebanese mountainside overlooking the Mediterranean.
Grape Varietals & Region: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, from vineyards planted on terraces at 850 metres altitude in the village of Aoura in the mountains of North Batroun, Lebanon. The vines are dry-farmed and fertilised with organic cattle manure, grown in clay and limestone soils; the terraces retain rainwater and curb landslides on this steep site, and yields are kept deliberately low for concentration.
Taste Profile: Dense purple in colour, with vivid aromas of blackberry, blueberry and plum alongside hints of mocha, vanilla and cocoa powder. Medium to full-bodied, with velvety tannins, cassis flavours and a long, minty finish.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are handpicked at dawn or dusk in early September to keep them cool on arrival, destemmed, and fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel. The wine ages 12 months in French oak barrels (30% new) with a small portion of American oak.
Winemaker: Oncologist-turned-vigneron Fady Geara bought this land near the village of Aoura in 2003, drawn to its altitude and views over the Mediterranean; Château Aurora, made from the estate's oldest vines, was the winery's founding wine. His daughter Andrea now works alongside him as Aurora's second-generation winemaker, and the label's star motif is drawn from a symmetric star relief carved by Fady's stonemason father, Boutros, at age 17.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
