Trimbach Gewürztraminer 2020
Twelve generations of the same family have made wine in Alsace since 1626 — this is their everyday expression of the region's most flamboyant grape, kept dry and precise on purpose.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Gewürztraminer from Maison Trimbach's vineyards spread across Alsace, France, based in the medieval city of Ribeauvillé. The vines grow in marl, limestone and sandstone soils under a semi-continental climate of cold, dry winters and hot summers, sheltered from excess rain by the Vosges mountains to the west.
Taste Profile: A unique, fruity and spicy wine with a dry, precise and straightforward character. A finely balanced, aromatic nose of lychee, rose and ginger carries through to the palate, finishing dry and quietly exotic. Ageing potential of 3–5 years.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are brought to the winery after harvest for fermentation in stainless steel, then bottled early without malolactic fermentation — a deliberately restrained approach that keeps the wine dry rather than pushing it toward the riper, sweeter style Gewürztraminer is sometimes known for.
Winemaker: Maison Trimbach was founded in Riquewihr in 1626 by Jean Trimbach, whose family had arrived from Switzerland to work the silver mines of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. The estate moved to Hunawihr in the 1840s and then to its current home in Ribeauvillé just after the First World War. Frédéric Emile Trimbach drove the house's rise to the top tier of Alsatian producers, earning an honorary diploma in 1898 that gave the wines international renown; the 13th generation of the family now carries the estate forward, making Trimbach one of the rare wineries with over 400 years of unbroken family ownership.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
