French Bordeaux know-how meets Moldovan soil in a wine built on a monastery-adjacent partnership two centuries old.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Malbec, grown in the fertile village of Purcari, Moldova, on clay-based loam rich in chernozem alongside blue clay soils. The vineyard faces south-southeast at 200 metres elevation — a site French settlers first identified in the 18th century for its similarities to Bordeaux, entering into partnership with a local monastery to cultivate it.
Taste Profile: Ruby with purple reflections. The bouquet layers blackberry, black currant and violet aromas. Sophisticated on the palate, with a velvety texture, silky tannins and flavours that follow through seamlessly from the nose.
Winemaking Process: 100% hand-harvested in small bins from the best parcels, chilled overnight, then hand-selected and destemmed with no crushing. Cryo-macerated for 5 days, then aged 6 months in new 225L French barriques with medium and medium-plus toasting.
Winemaker: Purcari is Moldova's oldest winery, founded in 1827 and granted official recognition by Russian Emperor Nicholas I as the first winery in Bessarabia. Its wines have found their way to royal tables ever since, from Nicholas II and King George V to Queen Victoria, and the estate's blend won gold at the 1878 Exposition Universelle in Paris.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
