Champagne's spirited southern cousin — made by the same method, at altitude, with Chardonnay that actually gets to keep its cool.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Mauzac — the three pillars of the Crémant de Limoux AOP — from Domaine Altugnac's high-altitude estate vineyards in the Haute Vallée de l'Aude, Languedoc, France. Crémant de Limoux regulations mandate a blend structure of 40–70% Chardonnay, 20–40% Chenin Blanc, and up to 20% Mauzac — the region's historic indigenous grape — with hand harvesting mandatory and a minimum 12 months ageing on lees before disgorgement. Altugnac's vines are planted on slopes at 500 metres elevation on shallow, limestone-centric soils, where the altitude mitigates the Mediterranean climate — especially at night — producing wines that are fresh, charming, and true to their varietal character.
Taste Profile: Clear and luminous gold in the glass, with citrus aromas crackling on the palate — grapefruit and lime. The juice is full, its harmony based on the sparkle of fruity juice extended by noble bitters. Chardonnay contributes citrus, green apple, and mineral character, while Chenin Blanc adds richness, floral notes, and texture. Mauzac, the region's ancient indigenous grape, lends a distinctive freshness and a hint of green apple that sets Limoux sparkling apart from all others. An ideal aperitif, and a worthy companion to oysters, soft cheeses, or smoked salmon.
Winemaking Process: Produced using the méthode traditionnelle — the same method as Champagne — with a second fermentation occurring in the bottle. The appellation requires a minimum of 12 months ageing on lees before disgorgement, exceeding the EU minimum for Crémant, developing a fine, persistent mousse and the subtle bready complexity that defines quality Crémant de Limoux. Significant day-to-night temperature variations, combined with clay-limestone soils, promote slow and complete maturation — preserving the natural freshness and acidity that give this wine its signature vivacity

Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
