Part of Gabriëlskloof's Reserve Range, bottling only their most outstanding vintages.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Sauvignon Blanc from a special block in Elgin, South Africa, sitting at 300 metres altitude. Elgin has a reputation as the coolest wine region in the country, giving the fruit a slow, even ripening that builds aromatic intensity and excellent acidity.
Taste Profile: Golden straw colour. An open, expressive nose of lychee, blackcurrant, white peach and pear. The textured palate is saline with a lively, zesty lemon-and-lime core, closing on a lingering, fresh honey and lemon finish.
Winemaking Process: Whole-bunch pressed and fermented in clay amphorae, ranging from 500L to 860L, where the wine also ages for 10 months — what started as an experimental project has since become a permanent part of the range.
Winemaker: Gabriëlskloof was the fulfilment of a lifelong dream for South African businessman Bernhard Heyns, who bought what was then a canola farm called Avontuur outside Bot River in 2001 and began planting vines the following year. The estate has since grown to more than 60 hectares under vine, with Heyns' son-in-law Peter-Allan Finlayson — also of Crystallum — taking over as winemaker from the 2015 vintage.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
