Mario Gagliasso Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata DOCG 2020
A Barolo from La Morra's celebrated Rocche dell'Annunziata cru, farmed by the Gagliasso family on 50-year-old vines.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Nebbiolo from vineyards in La Morra, Piedmont, Italy, with a west-southwest exposure, clay and limestone soils, and vines averaging 50 years old.
Taste Profile: A medium ruby colour. Beautifully intense, enveloping aromas of wild red berries, smoke and cedar. Dry and medium-bodied on the palate, with assertive tannins, juicy acidity and a dense yet plush texture. Fresh flavours of red cherries, raspberries and strawberries carry rich hints of leather, mocha and tobacco, closing in a warm, enduring finish.
Winemaking Process: Green harvest carried out twice to reduce yields to around 5,500kg per hectare. Grapes are picked at optimum ripeness with meticulous selection, then spontaneously fermented in stainless steel at 30-31°C with 30-35 days of maceration, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine ages 6 months in French barrels (10% new, 90% used), then moves to 2,500L casks for 22-24 months, followed by 10-12 months of bottle refinement.
Winemaker: Azienda Agricola Mario Gagliasso farms in La Morra, one of Barolo's most prestigious communes, drawing on the Rocche dell'Annunziata cru's prized west-southwest exposure and clay-limestone soils to craft Nebbiolo built for both immediate pleasure and long-term ageing.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
