Cremant: Champagne's Laid-Back Cousin
Crémant is Champagne’s laid-back French cousin—made in regions like Alsace, Loire, Burgundy, and Limoux. It’s still made using the traditional method, but usually with local grape varieties and at a more wallet-friendly price point.
Winemaking: Each region puts its own spin on Crémant. In Alsace, you’ll find Pinot Blanc and Riesling; in the Loire, Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. The wines are elegant and creamy, but typically a touch lighter and fruitier than Champagne.
Food Pairing: Crémant is super versatile. Pair it with goat cheese salads, roast chicken, or a buttery quiche. It’s also a fantastic brunch wine—bring on the eggs Benedict!
